Buckeye Health Plan Supports American Red Cross Disaster Relief in Perry County

Financial Support Strengthens Resources for Area Families

Buckeye Health Plan, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), today announced a $25,000 donation to the American Red Cross disaster relief operations in Ohio, with a focus on relief efforts in Perry County. Buckeye is also contacting area members directly to offer additional support.

Perry County experienced multiple rounds of flooding in August as heavy rainfall moved across already saturated ground. The National Weather Service issued flood and flash flood warnings as area creeks and streams rose rapidly, flooding low-lying areas. Recent downpours came just weeks after severe flooding damaged homes, vehicles and roadways throughout the county and led local officials to declare a state of emergency. Flooding created significant transportation challenges for residents, with standing water covering roads across portions of the county.

“Perry County families are facing significant challenges accessing school, grocery stores, work, medical care and other essential services. The American Red Cross has been working tirelessly to meet these needs, and this emergency funding will strengthen their efforts — helping ensure that children and families most at risk have access to essentials during this critical time,” said Buckeye CEO Justin Loudon. “This contribution reflects Buckeye’s mission to transform community health through locally driven solutions.”
