How to Renew Your Ohio Medicaid Coverage

Important Changes Coming for Ohio Medicaid Members

Once the federal government declares an end to the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), Medicaid will resume its normal eligibility review process. This means that all eligible Medicaid members will have to renew their Medicaid coverage or risk losing benefits.

Some Buckeye members will be required to respond to a packet in the mail from your County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) regarding your Medicaid eligibility.

GET READY TO RENEW

Members are encouraged to:

1. Update your contact information - three easy ways:

  • Call 1-844-640-6446. Help is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
  • Online at the Ohio Benefits website.
    • After logging in, they should click the “Access my Benefits” tile, then click “Report a Change to my Case” from the drop down and follow the prompts.

Members with an existing Ohio Benefits Self-Service Portal (SSP) account can report changes online. After logging in, click the “Access my Benefits” file, then click “Report a Change to my Case” from the drop down and follow the prompts.

  • Visit your County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) office.

Ohio Medicaid members can find their CDJFS by selecting their county from the Ohio Department of Medicaid website.

2. Check your mail and respond to requests for information from ODJFS – RIGHT AWAY!

If you receive a letter stating that it’s time to renew, or that ODJFS needs more information, you should respond right away. The ODJFS needs to hear from members to review their Medicaid eligibility. Members who do not respond to renewal letters or requests for information risk losing their Medicaid coverage, even if they are eligible.

You can find out more by calling 1-844-640-6446 or by contacting your local ODJFS. Ohio Medicaid members can find their County ODJFS office by selecting their county from the dropdown found at the Ohio Department of Medicaid website.

MEDICAID MEMBERS CAN MANAGE THEIR MEDICAID ACCOUNT AT ANYTIME!

Visit Benefits.Ohio.gov to complete renewals, upload documents, and find out the status of your coverage by logging into your Ohio Benefits Self-Service Portal. Don’t have an account? You can follow the easy steps to create one today!
