At Buckeye, we understand that it can be hard to get to a doctor’s visit and other important places. That’s why we make iteasy by providing free rides to our members for:

  • Up to 20 round trips or 40 one-way trips to doctor visits or other healthcare appointments
  • Free Dental and vision visits
  • Pharmacy trips within 10 miles of your pickup or dropoff location after a doctor’s appointment
  • Non-medical trips, including:
    • Grocery stores
    • Food banks
    • Housing assistance organizations
    • Job interviews
    • County caseworker meetings to manage eligibility
    • WIC

  • Additional trips with prior authorization (This does not count toward the trip maximum of 20 round trips or 40 one- way):
    • Dialysis
    • Chemotherapy or radiation
    • Wound care
    • Hospital discharges

We offer unlimited free rides to medical appointments for the following:

  • Chemotherapy or radiation treatment
  • Dialysis
  • Wheelchair confinement (member cannot transfer)
  • Pregnancy and prenatal; twelve-week limited trips for post-partum visits less than 30 miles; NICU and children (younger than age one) well visits.
  • Trips over 30 miles (Buckeye reviews all trips above 30 miles from the members home and will work with the member to establish care close to home or cover depending on trip type).

Transportation options to bests upport your needs

We provide transportation benefits in three different ways:

  • Car or van through Lyft, Uber Health or local transportation company available upon request and/or when another transportation provider is unable to fulfill a transportation request.
  • Bus passes are available for appointments (quantity limits defined by county specific rules).
  • Mileage reimbursement is available for one-way trips that are less than 30 miles from the member’s house.
