Doula Services

Buckeye wants to help you have a healthy, full-term birth. That’s why we offer doula services at no cost to you! A doula is a trained support person who helps you before, during and after your baby is born. They’re not doctors or nurses, but they are experts in comfort, care and support.

What Doulas Do:
- Help you stay calm with breathing, relaxing and moving during labor
- Explain what’s happening and what your choices are
- Talk to hospital staff so you can focus on your baby
- Support you with breastfeeding tips and resources
What You Get as a Buckeye Medicaid Member:
- Up to 48 visits before and after your baby is born
- Support during labor — anytime and anywhere
- Visits that can be in-person or virtual
- Comfort and emotional support throughout your journey
Tips to Get the Most From Your Doula:
- Start early: Meet your doula as soon as you can
- Ask anything: No question is too small — your doula is here to help
